چکیده

A 56-days experiment was carried out to study the effect of replacing macaroni waste meal (MWM) with maize on nutrient digestibility and blood chemistry indigenous turkey starter. Ninety-six poults an average weight 52 g were randomly assigned four dietary treatments containing at 0%, 15%, 30% 45% level as replacement for maize. Each treatment consist 24 replicated thrice 8 turkeys per replicate. three day metabolic trial determination. Blood samples also collected serum haematological indices. Data subjected one way analysis variance. Result showed that MWM 15% had highest values packed cell volume, red cell, white while recorded uric acid creatinine significantly lower (P<0.05) turkeys. The coefficient such crude protein digestibility, nitrogen retention not affected (P>0.05). However, count, albumin, hemoglobin, total glucose. It can be concluded could incorporated into diet starter without any deleterious chemistry.

Haematological and serum biochemical indices of starter broilers fed leaf meal of neem (Azadirachta indica)

A 28-day feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary inclusion of Neem (Azadirachta indica) leaf meal on the haematological and serum biochemical indices of starter broilers. The Neem leaves used in the experiment were manually harvested, air-dried and milled to become Neem leaf meal. The Neem leaf meal was included in broiler starter diets at 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10% levels,...

Performance of Broiler Chickens Fed Two Varieties of Guinea Corn and Millets as Replacement for Maize

The study was carried out to evaluate the effects of complete replacement of maize with two varieties of guinea corn and two varieties of millets on the growth performance and nutrient retention in broiler chickens. Five isonitrogenous and isocaloric diets for the broiler starter (23.5% CP; 2800 kcal/ME) and finisher (21.5% CP; 2900 kcal/ME) phases were formulated. Diet 1 consisted on a maize b...

Nutrient digestibility and growth performance of pigs fed pearl millet as a replacement for corn.

Three experiments were conducted to determine the value of pearl millet grain, grown at either Purdue University or the University of Nebraska, as a substitute for corn in the diets of young pigs. In Exp. 1, 24 crossbred barrows, average initial weight of 20.7 kg, were used to evaluate nutrient digestibility of both sources of pearl millet compared with corn. Nitrogen digestibility was similar ...
